The Story of Christmas, Op. 158

by David Lee Grossman

/

about

A musical telling of the Christmas story for orchestra in a cinematic style, using new arrangements of several traditional Christmas carols book-ended by an original fanfare. Last August, I attended a two-week soundtrack composition course in Seattle. While writing this piece, I incorporated a lot of the training I received there in harmony and voicing.

Finished 3/17/2016. Audio created with Finale 2012 and Garritan instruments (GPO 4) and mixed with Audacity. This piece was selected as an honorable mention for the 2016 Westminster Choir College Composition Department awards.
