lyrics

I am standing, staring out beyond
Beyond the simple scenes I see beyond my home
I feel a calling to an epic journey
A hidden trail into the vast and great unknown

My songs and my stories are oh so simple,
There must be much more to this life

So take me down the open road where I belong
Take me far beyond just simple songs,
Where I can wander and wonder, upon the distant shore
Oh take me there,
Down the open road
Take me far beyond, take me down that road.

So I listen to the drums within me
They're beating steady, proud and strong, but I am longing for more.
There's more inside me I have yet to feel
I know there's something waiting on those distant shores.

Beyond the horizons there's something calling,
Oh let my heart be free!

So take me down the open road where I belong
Take me far beyond just simple songs,
Where I can wander and wonder, upon the distant shore,
Oh take me there,
Down the open road
Take me far beyond, take me down that road.

The open road where I belong
Take me far beyond just simple songs,
Where I can wander and wonder, upon the distant shore,
Oh take me there,
Down the open road

There is something waiting there for me
There must be something I have yet to see
My heart be free, it's onward down the road
Please take me down the open road.
